New job!

Yes, yes I know. It's been nearly a month since I last posted. You're going into Danielle withdrawal. It's to be expected.

But - I have some great news! I have a new job, and have been working at it for a week now. I'll miss teaching, though. I loved having a classroom.

But what else has been going on? Last weekend, we decided to do some landscaping. By 'we', I mean that I decided to do some landscaping, and that Chad was the (somewhat) unwilling labourer. Eighty wheelbarrows of half-inch rock later, and we now have...a pile of rocks in the backyard. Yes, ladies and gentlemen. A pile of rocks. But it's a beautiful pile of rocks, no? And, in the front...we have a pile of stones. But it's a beautiful pile of stones, no?

The downside to doing work in your front yard is that, when you get tired, you can't just up and quit.

Neighbour 1: Danielle, why do you have a pile of rocks bigger than your car in front of your house?
Neighbour 2: Do you guys need help?
Neighbour 3: That's a big pile of rocks. Do you need help?
Neighbours 4 thru 10: Boy. That looks like a lot of work. Do you need help?
Neighbour 2 (again): Seriously. Do you need help?
Neighour 3 (again): Yeah. We'll help if you need.
Neighbour 2 (yet again): That's it. We're helping. Give me the wheelbarrow.

That's why I love my neighbourhood. They're willing to force help upon you, if you're being particularly stubborn.

Tomorrow, if the weather cooperates, we'll finish off our landscaping. Photos to come later.
